Star of Hope

At last, it has been deemed that we have enough electricity to light our star, extra (my last!) of Mike putting it up; our house looking embarrassingly scruffy after all the rain.

Been thinking a lot about hope today, here is Dickinson's poem about it being the thing with feathers that never stops singing, though the storm be sore. I think we need to make a conscious and repeated decision, though, to tune into it, at least I do. To not give into despair or depression, but to keep on hoping, no matter how many times our hopes are dashed.

And here is a Blip that ends with a hopeful note, love it - of course Christmas hasn't been cancelled, who could do that? We just need to decide to enjoy it whatever it's like, even if it's just allowing ourselves a day off to read a good book and eat something special.

Gratefuls:
- enough sunshine today to give us sufficient electricity to light our star, and to eat lunch outside - warmer out than in
- talking to both my daughters on FT, and playing a brilliant new game invented by Zion - "Which country am I thinking of?" - be ready with a new country next time we talk, kids!
- seeing Jupiter and Saturn even clearer tonight, from our Land, and with the binoculars, even Jupiter's moons!

Oh, and thanks so much for all the affirmation for yesterday's shot of the post conjunction.
