La vida de Annie

By Annie

Gato gruñón.

New State of Alarm day 58.
Had another attempt at the grocery shop abandoned yesterday. Absolutely no shortages, and the shop wasn't too busy, but those who were in there were being a bit casual (unaware?) about social distancing, and although most were wearing masks, they were not always in the right place. Got home feeling somewhat depressed. The cases are rising even here, a small isolated island, and across Europe and plague island Britain it's out of control. What have people learned except how to become blasé about it? The news is unwatchable and social media is rife with uneducated ranting, hatred and conspiracy theories; perhaps the human race deserves this contagion to wipe it out once and for all.

The face of one of next-door's many cats (probably a reincarnated middle-aged ex-pat Mail reader) says it all.
