Rabbits At Christmas

Of course.

We have four cakes tins, for keeping home baking in. Naturally they feature festive rabbits.

Of course after the cakes have been baked they have to be fed with some spiritual goodness and this is quite process taking several days.

Three cakes are presents for friends. Meanwhile our one is being finished in Marzipan and Cherries. No icing.

It is a sunny day today and we decided to take the car out, fill with "go juice" and enjoy the sun.

The extras show the harbour mouth to our nearest marina. All of the boats have been lifted out to be serviced over the winter. The other extra is the Cactus back home, somewhat mud spattered.

Near us in Balmullo is a quarry and there is a road over the hill which passes the quarry. We had been nosing about the fringes of Balmullo. Pat is taking photos of various points of interest and she wondered if we could go over the hill.

There is a road. The last time, I was over it it was a very "fast road". It had been a great favourite in my road rallying days in the 70s.

Starting off we passed the quarry with a sign saying "road not advised". It is a narrow road. The Scottish Water truck coming along the road towards us filled the width of the road.

After he had passed we headed off. The road has somewhat broken up in the intervening years, and progress was quite a bit slower than I remembered.

The near side verge is on the downhill side, and on that side there are many potholes.

Reversing is not really a practical option and we kept going, very very slowly, letting each wheel drop carefully into each hole.

Well, we made it through, with no damage to the car. No grounding, no banging.

However the car needs a thorough hosing down, wash and polish.

We would have been quicker walking.

An adventure in the sun!
