Chopping

The extra photo is of daughter Kate's very nearly chopped off finger after using one of those slicer machine things but ..... like all of us at some point .... not using the holder thingy that is designed to stop you slicing your fingers along with the carrots! It was apparently very serious and required some serious medical work. She was in dreadful pain, and it lasted weeks and required loads of GP follow-up surgery visits.

Back here the maize/corn harvest is under way. This now old-fashioned set up is of a Mercedes Unimog driving backwards with the chopper only about the breadth of the tractor. I am pretty sure this maize is for cattle feed in the form of silage as the big boys in the maize/corn growing are the bio-gas/electricity  business and can afford huge harvesters & accompanying massive tractors and trailers.

The sooner the stuff is harvested the better, and we take back control of our countryside. If I had my way, it would be banned totally.
