Exploring Williston in Black and White

According to a plaque in a small drive right by park on the outskirts of the city and next to the train depot (where this picture was taken), Williston was incorporated as a town in 1897 and chartered as a city in 1929.

The plaque goes on to read (and in spite of my reputation, I am not making this up): "An electrical distribution system was purchased for $33,300 on June 11, 1933 from the Williston Manufacturing Company. Included was the generator, ice plant, cold storage plant, one ten year old horse named Charlie, and a wagon and harness. The generator was used for seven years and had a capacity of 100 kilowatts."

See what you can learn exploring the country side looking for a blip?

....and the adventure continues.
