Blooming

I emptied 58mm from my rain gauge today. That's what accumulated over the past 2-3 days. Some parts of Canterbury got double that, if not more.

The wildflowers and echinaceas haven't minded the cooler temperatures or higher than usual rainfall. They've bloomed in my absence and are a pleasure whether I'm inside or outside.

I took things quietly today to give my brain some space to recover from the concentration of driving. Gloves kept my paws warm on my morning walk.

Today's gratitude: For a helpful man who delivered a new vacuum cleaner to me at no extra cost. He took away the old one to recycle too.
