Hellos & Goodbyes

A day of door visits!
First to say hello to family from South Africa!
And later for Rebekah to say goodbye to Granny and Granda, before she heads back for work in London tomorrow.

Today’s lectures were very interesting - one was about the “Inverse Care Law” (a discovery made by a GP in South Wales, that the availability of good medical care tends to vary inversely with the need for it in the population served).

Another was about how important it is to listen to parents - rigourous studies have shown that a child is 36.26 times more likely to have a serious illness if their parent has a gut feeling of concern. Reminded me of the the very first lecture we had in first year - by a mother who lost her teenage son, because no one had listened to her concerns.
