Lost and found

It’s been a rollercoaster kind of day.

When we got back from our walk yesterday Jess had disappeared. We went out again looking for her before it got dark and when she wasn’t back by teatime we began to get very worried. We went back out again after tea, in the dark, but she was nowhere to be seen.

I shared her photo on social media and the post was shared 600 times! We had a lady dowsing the map to find her, and people offering to come out and search in the dark. We decided to get some sleep and then resume the search at first light.

I was up in the fields above our house when I had a phone call to say she had been found on top of the hill opposite our house, by two local women who were walking their own dog. They were bringing her back in their car. (That’s the hill behind Joanna in the pic)

I returned to find D -and Jess with Joanna and Aidan, who had Ben searching nearby. We all had a celebratory distanced cup of tea in the garden.

Jess seems happy and healthy (she was very hungry!) . We will never know where she got to in those 20 hours but we are jolly glad to have her back :-)

Big thanks to everyone who helped to find her.
