Flood meadows

I finally made it out early enough to watch the sun rise over the floods in the Nene Valley, the warm orange sky contrasting with the freezing temperatures. It's good to see the flood meadows doing what they're supposed to do - storing water to prevent serious flooding downstream in Peterborough. The levels are now starting to subside a little, as water is released from the river through the tidal sluice at Dog-in-a-Doublet.
