Perfect first day of 2021

The first day of 2021 was bright, sunny and frosty! We drove up to Fearnoch forest near Taynuilt and did a bit of walking - unfortunately owing to the tall Sitka spruce we were largely in the shade, and for some other reason we saw almost no wildlife! No red squirrels, just one small unidentifiable bird, one bird cry which turned out to be a child and several huge anthills! Not to worry - we had some exercise!

The light was so good that after lunch I popped out again up to  Dunstaffnage Marina to take pictures and then took this photograph of Ben Cruachan from the entrance to Poppies Garden Centre. I also stopped at the Fisherman's Wharf just short of Connel and stood for twenty minutes or so watching a dozen seals cavorting in the water, not far offshore. As I haven't yet received my new Sigma 18-300 lens - ordered on 18th December -  I had to use my Lumix, which at full zoom is not great quality. But it was fun watching them  and we may go back tomorrow for another look!

Limerick of the Day:

Young Tom met an avid Adventist
Who suggested that he be apprenticed.
He was packed off to college
To further his knowledge
But decided to train as a dentist!
