Underneath the arches

Another wonderful day today! Frosty, sunny and calm. We decided to go for a walk from Port Appin, up the coast a bit from Oban. The coastal cliffs here, like the offshore island of Lismore, are limestone, unlike most of the surrounding area. Not only is the flora different, but the cliffs are more easily eroded and south of Port Appin there are several natural arches and small caves. This is one of the best arches. My extra today is of the lighthouse on an islet close to the village of Port Appin, where the ferry leaves for Lismore. Not running today - you can see it moored to a buoy.

Quote of the Day:

Marcus Aurelius – “Be like the cliff against which the waves continually break; but it stands firm and tames the fury of the water around it."
