A New Year

So that’s it; Christmas is over.  At least, it is in this household.  We don’t wait until twelfth night and as our decorations this year consisted of a tiny pre-lit Christmas tree and all the cards we had received, it was a fairly easy job to take them all down.  As expected, we were fast asleep long before midnight but were woken up (although not for long) by a few minutes of celebratory fireworks nearby just after twelve.  I always think New Year is a time not for resolutions, but just to look forward to everything you have planned for the coming year.  Hopefully, it won’t be long before we have the freedom to do everything we want to do.
