Rodents rule

It's Fred's birthday so it's only right that he has Juno cuddles. This is the best Juno—Fred cuddle scenario that Juno will tolerate.

The day was bright and perfect for a walk. We traversed Brockwell Park and returned via Railton Road where we spied blue plaques for Winifred Atwell and C L R James – both of whom I had to look up when I returned home. Blue plaques are a great jumping off point to finding out about folk and events. I'm always drawn to them and want to find out more.

We bought some delicious take-out Greek food from a favourite place in Herne Hill. Nom.

A friend doorstepped in the evening and we had a socially distanced cuppa while he wished Fred many happy returns. As we chatted, it appeared that Simon has Dr Doolittle tendencies for we turned round at one point to see that four cats – Juno, grey cat from over the road, Gaia from the road behind us, and a mystery tabby – had surrounded him. This was impressive. Juno spoiled the happy crowd by getting too close to Gaia and Gaia hissed and backed off. Simon tried to say hello to the mystery tabby, which legged it. I think the cats just wanted to be near the people who were outdoors in their world.
