Just Ducky

Mated pairs making
their winter here. What happened
to their migration?

I'm not understanding how this little flock finds enough food to eat. I know that there are geese and ducks who don't leave for the winter as we might expect. 

We are in a mild spell now, often referred to as 'mud season'. Day and night time temperatures are above freezing. The snow load we received last week is disappearing fast. Thus the mud. I have road filth splashed right up to the door handles on my truck at the moment. I am most reluctant to wash the truck as that only encourages frozen locks.
