A Day In The Life

Scattered

The aftermath of yesterday’s domestic terrorism, the temporary siege of our Nation’s Capitol, continues to be grappled with today. As more details pour out, it’s as shocking today as it was yesterday, BUT how anyone can be surprised is a surprise in itself. The signs and momentum have been building for four years, and here we are. Honestly, we’re fortunate yesterday’s insurrection wasn’t worse • With so many emotions churning in my head and stomach, I chose these three images for today: the top one represents the mob mentality of rushing and breaking into the Capitol, egged on by its ringleader; bottom right, a visual of our nation’s flag seen on my morning walk; the pole appears to be broken and the homeowner hasn’t noticed, but how apropos and shameful; and lastly, this represents all those republican congressmen hiding behind their rhetoric masks and lies this morning • I have not lost hope or optimism for the future but enough is enough. Accountability and Justice must prevail.
