As Cold as Ice

This was the ice on my car windscreen just before 8 this morning. A quiet day, more admin, a walk around the block (too icy) and I wasted 2.5 hours watching Tenet (poor story, badly told, horrible science, weak acting (bar Ken Branagh) and terrible sound on the blu ray - so disappointing for a Christopher Nolan film). I was wrong yesterday to go to Sheringham for a walk. Staying local isn't defined in the Govt guidance under Exercising where I looked, but under Travel it says 'Always stay local. Avoid travelling outside of your village, town or the part of a city where you live.'

Update: I've just listened to Kate Bingham, Chair of the UK Vaccines Task force being interviewed on Political Thinking on R4. Very interesting and a very able lady.

Day 300 / Day 5 of Lockdown 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 1,035 to 80,868 (revised basis), with 59,937 new cases, 32,294 patients in hospital (a new record), 3,098 on ventilation (highest since 20/4) and 4,051 new admissions (a new record). Govt sources have told SKY News that harsher lockdown restrictions are to be enforced in the coming weeks. A property investment company offered GP surgeries a donation of £5k to a staff member or charity for each unused vaccine dose secured - unbelievable! Good news that both the Queen and Prince Philip, both in their 90s, have been vaccinated today at Windsor Castle.
