Summer's Day

Traditionally, at least once a year, we meet up with friends at Coldingham Bay. Normally, the two families meet on the beach during the Easter holidays and sometimes again during the summer.
Despite the good old Scottish weather, normally there are children, and the occasional brave adult, in the sea. Blue skin and hot chocolates with fish and chips before setting off home again are our shared memories.
Sadly, this year, the Easter meet up couldn't happen.
The children are older now, with my friends' eldest daughter now working as a nurse, two at university, and one left at home.
So, today, it was me on my own, my friends, and two of their four children.
A very breezy walk over the cliffs around St Abbs and no swimming today.
Very strange to have incomplete families, no watersports, and no hugs!
