Hunting for the “hidden house”.

I’m in bed again early.
We took the three older children out this morning to introduce them to the field paths.
I made a map for each of them to carry. A bit like a treasure hunt.
They had fun looking for the things which were marked on it.
And also finding frozen footprints in the muddy parts (of which there were plenty across the fields).
Stiles, walls, pink hay bales (yes there are some pink ones!) the stream and a culvert tunnel which was designated to be a place for a troll as it straddled the water.
Toby 4, found a big stick and swashbuckled his way with it through bracken on the grass verges.
They all enjoyed finding the “hidden house”
By the time we arrived back at the car, parked in the lane from where we set off they had walked a good couple of miles without realising.
We drove the short distance to the Craft Centre where the Farmhouse Bistro was doing takeaway drinks. Finishing off with hot chocolate, before returning home for lunch.
By this time the early morning mistiness had cleared to a bright sharp sunny very cold afternoon..
When we had set off the sun was shining through mist which gave everything that beautifully mystic light. Especially when filtering through trees.
