At last

It's taken me several months to weed, feed, cut back the native Fuchsia ground cover (Fuchsia procumbens), and painstakingly prise out oxalis from my fern area.

The fact that I've finally got on top of it since Christmas is testament to my ongoing recovery from concussion, particularly improvements with fatigue and balance. I guess I'm pretty determined and tenacious too.

Some of the pavers were nearly covered with Fuchsia procumbens. While I like a bit of overgrowth, I want to help my balance and coordination, not leave stuff that increases my chances of a fall. The Fuchsia is rampant until the first decent frost halts any not sufficiently sheltered by other plants.

All going well in autumn I'll have some healthy Chatham Island Forget Me Nots I can transplant too. Tomorrow's cooler weather will help everything settle and take up today's fish and seaweed soaking.

Today's gratitude: For only a handful of balance issues today.
