The 6th. Street Viaduct

Todays' MonoMonday theme was to draw inspiration from a previous blip taken by Picturemull. In looking at her picture I was taken by the wonderful lines and the feeling of open space, which led me to think of this viaduct. An article written after it was built stated:   "Defined by the soaring white pylons and their distinctive cables, the 6th Street Viaduct in Milwaukee is both a local landmark as well as a critical path for the city".  This was the first cable stayed bridge for traffic in Wisconsin & it spans 2 railroad lines, 4 surface streets and 2 waterways. The pylons are 142 feet tall, and the length of the bridge is 671 feet.   Unfortunately there's no color in the sky today, but since it's in mono I guess having a blue sky wouldn't really have mattered. Thanks to Picturemull for hosting MM's this month & hope you all have a great start to the week. :)
