In The Bleak Midwinter

Well, frosty winds are indeed making moan. Earth does stand hard as iron. Water is like a stone.


Everywhere is silver, but it’s not a pleasant outlook. Still, MrsF says: birds to be fed, and ice in the birdbath to be replaced by fresh water. Beside me the blackbird is ticking loudly in the tree. And away to the left a male pheasant is chooking loudly in the wood across the field. Possibly Rabbie [see 2020 blips form 9th May, 29th June and 7th September] He is still around.
