Deep, crisp but not even

The top left was snapped from my bed - the sunrise itself wasn’t interesting though it did give us this pretty pink light to the Southwest.

We decided to head out through the woods and to the moor while it was still frosty. It was hard work as yesterday quite a few people had been out on the carriage drive when the snow was thawing. But those uneven prints froze hard in the night so it was very uneven to walk on. We only met 2 lots of people - no strangers - Doug and his collies, then Shona and Rob. We had distanced chats and also saw Ray clearing his drive as he has to take his brother in law for his Covid jab. He’s over 80 and recently had a stent put in - so far it’s only been over 90s here. 300000 jabs done in a week so how does BJ’s Maths manage to say 15 million by mid-February. Oh yes - he’ll have 15 million people get a letter telling them they’ll be getting the vaccine. That’ll fix it.

Home for lunch, made the grapefruit, orange and lemon marmalade and the tea loaf recommended by a fellow blipper. I didn’t have an orange so put in some mixed peel.

Bad news from friend Ruth about John. He’s needing very intensive chemo again. They aren’t sure he’ll cope with much more of it. They knew it would happen sooner or later - he had a stem cell transplant some years ago for bone cancer - but tough nonetheless.

We were having virtual drinks with Linda and Colin tonight but she’s called off - just feeling too fed up.

Reading Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams - amusing and funny but but Book of the Year? Book of the year for chick lit maybe
