A time for everything

Sunny but chilly afternoon by the Ohio

Saturday
When we woke this morning the temperature was reading 14F (-10C), so we didn’t rush to get up and out! It was a morning for phone calls - first Roger’s Dad, then my brother and sister-in-law. By early afternoon, under blue skies and sunshine, the temperature had just about made it to freezing, so we ventured out, choosing an urban walk for a change, beside the Ohio River. Just as we were about to set out walking, Laura called us from Kuwait, so we talked as we walked - the wonders of modern technology! Today was her first day out of two weeks quarantine after returning to Kuwait after Christmas with us. She had celebrated by going out to breakfast with a friend and her mother - they had blue skies and sunshine too - but somewhat warmer than us! We had a great walk along the Ohio River, which was so calm and still and blue, reflecting the sky above - so often it is a muddy brown colour, especially after rain or snow melt. My blip shows some of the swing seats which you find in a couple of locations - a lovely place to sit and relax and take in the view. on our way back home we stopped off at Michaels craft store in Kenwood to get some wool. I bought some of this particular yarn before Christmas and have just started working with it, knitting a scarf, and I really like it, but apparently they’re discontinuing it, and I could see from the web our closest store didn’t have much left, whereas Kenwood did, so I stocked up! Seafood curry for dinner this evening, and now we are just settling down for a relaxing evening. Stay safe and healthy fellow blippers!
