Last light

A very typical January day, mostly raw and grey - which meant I caught up with some outstanding correspondence and paperwork. Just before sunset, the clouds cleared a little and the sky became gently flushed with apricot and lemon tones, so I nipped down to the Rowing Lake. The floods are not as high as earlier in the week, but most of the paths are still impassable, except to brave souls with good wellies. It was bitterly cold, so I didn't stay long, but enjoyed ta brief break away from a screen.

In the evening we cheered up January by having home-made goat curry with rice-and-peas. I think we're all pining for somewhere warm and sunny, but this was the next best thing!
