Snow

Along with many other UK blippers I was excited to see the snow falling when I dragged myself out of bed this morning.  It snowed fairly heavily for a while before petering out and starting to thaw slightly.

I took two or three garden pics to record the event, it didn't snow at all last year.  Then it was time for the family zoom session where we had a game of dixit, the picture card game, very enjoyable.

After lunch we took a walk to Shottery,  we passed a few snowmen/women on the way, but particularly liked the one outside the Catholic church which I've put in the extras.  The main picture is one of the thatched cottages in the village.

Addendum: the Catholic Church is Our Lady of Peace and the Blessed Robert Dibdale on Church Lane, Stratford.   Robert Dibdale's name was added in 1998 during the Silver Jubilee Celebrations.  He is a martyr born in Shottery, who on return to England in 1585 was put in Newgate Prison accused of treason.  In 1586 he was executed at Tyburn Tree in London being hung, drawn and quartered.  His offence was being a Catholic Priest in England at that time.
