Another downy

Staring at the suet cake and preparing to savor his first bite, this downy woodpecker is ready for a big meal. The downy woodpeckers have made more frequent visits to the backyard bird buffet in the past week.  In my opinion they are handsome birds, especially the males with their bright red caps, but they are not as endearing as the bluebirds that are both beautiful and feisty.
