The Dodds

With a good covering of snow on the Dodds (which stretch from Helvellyn to Clough Head), we did a straight there-and-back route on it, covering 9 miles and 2000 feet. It was technically really tough today, with crampons needed at times, which made our feet weigh about 1 1/2 Kg each - but although we were totally knackered tired at the end of the walk, it was such a wonderful day.

Temperatures were varied, coming off the mountains we were melting in the sunlight, at the top of Great Dodd, (where we did sit for lunch), temperatures were in minus double figures.
