A Day In The Life

A Fine Finch

A large group of finches fly in a few times a day, comprised of male and female, both gold and house varieties. The male house finch always looks so fine against the snow. I’ve been trying to capture him for a few days. They fill the feeders, sit in the lilacs waiting their turn or hop along the hard packed snow for seed and nut treasures • Another cold day today but the sun is brightly shining. We visited the local Boat Landing midday and found it to be mostly quiet. A large flock of mallards flew in, with a few common mergansers and gulls swimming in an area of open water • We have a happy hour scheduled with friends later this afternoon. Looking forward to catching up over a G&T. Cheers to you all, Blip Pals!
