A Day In The Life

Storm Brewin’

A big winter storm is headed to Maine. It will arrive here this evening and depart in 24 hours or so. A range of 6 -12” of snow is predicted and the amount varies on freezing rain mixing in. I hope not • The feeders are full, the bird dishes emptied and put away, and the shovels sharpened and ready to go (ha-ha, kidding about the shovels). Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! • It was a difficult day for photos because of the thickening clouds, but I had plenty of opportunities. The birds sensed the storm and the feeding frenzy was in full force. This colorful male house finch is the best of the lot. He’s proudly sitting near the top of a lilac tree waiting a turn at the tube feeder. Note the buds on the tree. Mother Nature is reminding us that despite this snowstorm, spring is on its way. Yippee! • That’s it from this tiny part of the world. Take care, Blipmates! Irish59 is over and out!
