At Home: The Tiger Bird Cont....

The boy was deeply asleep and had tucked himself under the dark shadow of an old oak. The oak tree had used its roots kindly to nestle and protect the boy, and it found his warmth comforting too.

He in turn, cradled by her warm embrace had rolled himself tightly into ball. He was perfectly camouflaged within the crisp leaves and dark peat bed. So much so, that he didn't feel the cool breeze of her wings beating down on his skin as she landed silently onto the forest floor. The leaves gently blowing the curls around in circles ever so lightly on his forehead.

So much so, that he slept through her drawing her talon, tilting her head, just enough to see, (almost with the monocle falling from her eye, although she didn't have one of those of course) the small and delicate outline of his body.

Those talons, so battle scarred and worn. He twitched and breathed even more deeply. Her talons tensed, her eye focused more intensely and piercingly on the small boy..... she waited, because like the changing seasons, somethings are inevitable, just inevitable....

(sorry, its 11.54pm...will finish this tomorrow!...first part was yesterday in case you missed it!) ....
