At home: Ready for the sky show....

A beautiful evening. Crisp. They say snow is coming. Something is occurring.

I love these types of evenings. If it wasn't for the fact that you have your three layers of coats on it could look like a summers evening.

Its a shame. A warm day one minute. Hope that winter is over. Then the hopes are dashed with the news of more rain if not snow. Perhaps days like these are given to get you through the last of the winter days. The sky bright and contrasty preparing and even warming up for the light show. The Northern lights could be seen across the sky later this evening. I have seen the aurora before. The most amazing sight I have ever seen.

According to a folk tale, the aurora is explained as follows:"an arctic fox is running far in the north and touching the mountains with its fur, so that sparks fly off into the sky as the northern lights. Another version of the story says the fox throws the northern lights up into the sky by sweeping snow upwards with its tail. A more developed version then explains how moonlight is reflected from the snowflakes swept up into the sky by the fox's tail" (source: This is Finland)

I cant explain the weather, perhaps tribal people had it right, believing that it was in the hands of the spirits and gods...... x
