Funny money

This NATO stamp was issued in 1969 to mark 20 years of NATO.I wasn't born when this stamp was used, and it's probably been sitting in the same box since my grandfather put it there before I was born, and today it came out into the light to be photographed. For those of us younger than about 50, it is pre-decimal currency, so the 1/6 doesn't mean a sixth of something, but 1 shilling and 6 (old) pence, the stroke or soldus actually stands for the shilling. I suspect that the stamp had something expensive in, and it's a lot more than the 4d stamp from yesterday.

Another insanely busy day at work. The problem is I had lots of bity things to do and I hate having to switch from topic to topic as you end up getting nothing done!
