Newcastle Downunder

Cooling off

The old Newcastle station has undergone a transformation converted from the end of the line from Sydney to something that hasn't quite found itself yet.   There were plans to make it a market place, arts centre or theatre but they don't seem to have found any footing.  It is now an open outdoor place which is popular with skateboarders and as you can see younger children.   They have put in these jets of mist along what looks like railway tracks.  I can see design people selling the concept to the Council on the image of smoke of the old steam trains.  You can just imagine the spiel.

These kids however seemed to be enjoying themselves running through the mists until Granny (I presume) said that's enough your getting wet.

This was taken on the way to the fish markets as I was bringing lunch to friends and then it was cards this afternoon.  It's really been a glorious day weather wise.   The goldilocks sort of "just right".
