Tracks in the snow

Tuesday
We awoke to a winter wonderland! Around our way, we’d had 5-6 inches, the most we’ve seen in one snowfall for quite a while. Down at Cincinnati airport in northern Kentucky, but only about 45 minutes drive from here, they recorded 10 inches, the most they’d recorded in one fall since 2008!
The bird feeders were seeing a flurry of activity while we were having breakfast. After breakfast we both got out to shovel the driveway. Sometimes we are lucky and our neighbour across the road does it with his snow plough attachment for his ride-on mower, but unfortunately being a week day he wasn’t around! By the time we were done, there was just time for a photo walk around Pioneer park, before heading up to Hamilton for our appointments to get our first Covid shot. Fortunately all the roads had been cleared so the drive was no problem. Our age group became eligible yesterday, and Roger spent a while yesterday morning checking different websites, and calling round different pharmacies, and managed to find a Kroger pharmacy up in Hamilton, about 40 minutes to our north with two available shots. We were given the Moderna vaccine - it was quick and efficient, they asked us to stick around for 10-15 minutes in case of any reaction, and then we were free to go, with an appointment for 4 weeks time for the second dose. As I write this in the evening, we are both still feeling fine. Our daughter, who as a nurse has had both of her shots already, I believe had the Pfizer, and she did feel pretty bad for about 24 hours after her first shot. I must admit I was surprised we were able to get one so soon, as they seemed to be running behind with the 70-75 group. We had our names registered on a couple of different sites, and I think we probably would be waiting a week or more if we’d waited for those, but, being proactive got us one sooner! I have added an extra of part of our back yard this morning.
