Queen of the Amazons

Galanthus 'Hippolyta'.

In Greek mythology Hippolyta was an Amazonian Queen. Many and varied are the names of unusual snowdrops ..... and there are many!

This one is a fine double, much taller than the common double snowdrop and with very pronounced green markings in the centre of the flower.
