Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Thank You, Snow Gods!

Mission accomplished!   Only a very light dusting of snow last night, dry roads today. Knowing the clinic cut many hours off their opening times both early and late today  ( for weather... which was not necessary), we went early to get our 2nd vaccine, totally bundled up in long underwear etc and prepared to stand in line in freezing weather for an hour or two.  We got to the end of the very long line in the garage and 4 seconds later a lovely young woman helper came and asked if we could stand that long ( I did have my cane and wrist brace on :-)) and insisted we come with her to the front of the line and get a wheelchair... I knew this was possible but just couldn’t think I could do that and not feel really guilty. However that is what we did with her encouragement ..it cut out the  line.  We were way overdressed for being inside for long, but hey, we are  done!  Many many volunteers making it all run smoothly.  This is just a tiny portion of the line...just thought I’d want to remember how this day went and now we can relax.  And I love the photo of the old Providence Hospital spire in back .... H had a department there once.
I just heard the clinic is cancelled altogether tomorrow as the big snow is expected overnight.  Our friends who had theirs scheduled for tomorrow have to change plane reservations because they have to wait til Monday for the shot)
Let’s hope it will be a white blip tomorrow,!
Extra.. the cute fairy garden we pass on our chilly walk is of course set up for Valentine’s Day.
