A day in the life

By Shelling

Early mist

I woke up fairly early today, the light wakes me up and it's harder to go back to sleep. Sunrise happens at twenty past seven and these last days we've had a clear sky all day, producing an abundance of light.

This is the view that met me when I walked out of my bedroom, met by the cat starving for food saying good morning in its own way. I stood a long time looking at the light and the thin layer of mist on top of the snow. Temperature is slowly rising after a long period of quite cold weather, some nights as low as 15 degrees below zero. The warming of the sun makes the mist rise from the snow.

I just had to take a few pictures.

Who could resist?
