Through a lens darkly

Bright spark

Given how well my previous attempt at photographing fluorescent dyes went, I thought I might as well revisit the idea today!

This is rhodamine (orangey pink) with some fluorescein (greeny yellow) powder sprinkled on the surface. I wanted to capture the swirling patterns you get when one dye starts dissolving into the other. It's lit from the side by my UV lamp.

Today I have spent the entire day teaching Radiography students about digital image processing. It's nice that my job and my hobby coincide in some areas!
