Bird Nest in Winter

My husband and I were on our way back down the hill from visiting the gameland, when I spotted the nest. Or rather, I spotted the clump of white snow, and wondered how it got to be like that. Upon walking closer, I saw what it was: a bird nest.

Covered in several inches of snow, the nest doesn't look too inviting right now. But when the snow melts, and springtime comes, I bet it will be just full of eggs, and then hungry baby birds. For now, it is a nest in winter: tucked in winter's blanket, under the quiet snow, waiting for the coming of the birds.

I wanted my soundtrack song to be about birds, so here is this one: Jennifer Warnes, with Bird on a Wire.
