The first pollinators

A few administrative tasks sorted this morning, which was good.

A walk this afternoon. It may be February, but it definitely felt like Spring in the sunshine. There are lots of snowdrops flowering in the hedgerows. Either it’s a good snowdrop year, or we’ve never walked here in February before.

I noticed a large bumblebee taking nectar from one of the flowers, but it was off before I could attempt a photo. Then a smaller bee, but that was too quick as well. So I am making do with this large fly, pretending to be a bee (and it is a pollinator too, extra).

Today the government has announced and published a road map out of lockdown. It has been trailed for days. I am sure there will be plenty of bumps in the road, and caution is the right approach, but things do finally seem to be going in the right direction. The risks will remain however, so we will not be changing our approach or routines.
