Today really was a good day. Out of bed at the churchbells ringing. Having tea at the window, I was quickly ready to do my outside job: cutting back the buddleyas. The chimneysweeper will come at ten. And most times he runs his 4wheel up the steep driveway. As far as possible. But the buddleyea nearly blocks the way. Willemien mostly kept indifferent – can‘t people walk anymore? And she did not want the clipping have a lethal effect. So many beautifull butterfly visitors will turn up for a Blipfoto-session.
So I did my best to spare the vital roots for new beginnings in the spring. It had been cold first, but the rising sun came warming me up soon enough. Of course all these branches make a mess. Still much more to come, because I would rake heaps of old oaktreeleafs out of the garden on the stairs. Not all, in order to keep a bit of moist covering against the fierce sunshine.
First, the chimneysweeper came up without his SUV. He was as always dressed in his traditional outfit, but now not with his black cap. But the oldfashioned Cylinder. For protection against headbumping. Herr B. does not only sweep but he is the regional controller of airpolluting effects of heating.
He measures and certifies every individual heating, stove, hearth. Here you are not allowed to burn a piece of wood, without his Legal certificate. And Herr B is a Master of his craft. First he untertakes his computerized controlmeasures and then second, he sweepes the chimney. Which takes little time. And while performing both tasks he wears his Cylinder with elegance.
But make no mistake, he is he inspector and you need his certificate to heat. And he knows every owner of all smoking chimneys in the entire district. He could tell some stories…After he left, I went on working outside.
The weather was fabulous, a bit colder in the afternoon. But after a very satisfing day many more snow-drops, aconites and even crocus have been un-covered. Amazing to witness all these messengers of a new spring. You would be so excited to see how I worked hard to remove winter remnants and start the preparing of Our new Gardenwork. I deeply enjoy it and it makes me feel healthy and Close to You in Gratitude.
