Another crochet throw

It’s been a bit of a day

The hospital rang Mr C to say the computer wasn’t happy with the information his pacemaker was sending it so he is to have a heart scan. This is a worry. We thought the pacemaker itself would solve things.

I saw the optician re the deterioration I’m experiencing in my reading eye. I was referred to the specialist about this last September when I was told the wait was 6 months. When I rang last week I was told it was a 12 month wait now and to see my GP to get a more urgent referral. So I saw my optician to get his advice. When I had my cataracts removed I got a distance lens in the left eye and a reading one in the right as I’d had contact lenses that did that. Now the reading eye has deteriorated further - he can’t tell if it is capsule hazing (which lasering will fix at the risk of detaching the retina) but thinks it’s more likely dry macular degeneration, for which nothing can be done. I’m getting reading glasses for the distance eye. However that eye is also a problem as the pressure test is high which could mean glaucoma. This can be treated with drops but it will continue to deteriorate till I get drops. Only the specialist can decide what it is. Also my peripheral vision is poor. (I had scans, machines etc). The optician can’t refer me to specialist. It has to go via GP. He will write to my GP to say I need a more urgent referral. If the waiting list is too long he recommends I go privately to the Nuffield. What a saga!

I’m trying to calm myself down by sewing in all the ends of this crochet throw. After that it will get shells round the edges.
