A Day Worth Recording

Variations on Trust

This was the first CD I bought (two had come free with the CD deck). This was back in the days when you needed a specialist shop to find CD's for sale, and it probably cost more in absolute terms 25, 30 years ago than one does now!

I didn't know the album at all but bought it, trusting to E's recommendation. We were going out at the time. We were in London, but although I can semi-visualise the shop I've no idea why we were in London during opening hours.

The pleasure of my first listening to it has stayed with us, and it just gets better. The final tracks really need to be on LOUD - at a volume setting the teenagers probably don't believe parents even know about, let alone use.

It's just the two of us here today as the juniors are off to a Quaker youth weekend - so it was good to turn the volume up while we were decorating.

Altogether something of a familiar scene, albeit from a couple of decades ago.
