Honeybees on Goat Willow

A lovely day split in two. In the morning we took a long circular walk around the lanes and fields. Janet took a lovely shot of the flowers on a clump of goat willow the other day, and today it was full of happy buzzing honey bees. The walkabout lens coped admirably with the close up shot of these two, who both seemed to want the same flower... Do go large.

In the afternoon I took Morrigan out for an essential bimble around the county lanes between Chipping Sodbury and Stroud - just to ensure no rust build-up on the discs, you understand, and to test the grip of the tyres... and then back in time to see the shopping has been delivered and put away. To celebrate; a small beer in the afternoon sunshine.

I hope your day has been as relaxing. I'm adding an extra of last night's full Moonrise, as she tipped up above the Cotswold escarpment. It took bare seconds from the very edge of the Moon becoming visible, yellow orange in the atmospheric dust, to her nipping off into the low layer of cloud. I was simply fortunate to look up at the right moment, and have the right lens on.
