Raindrops on daffodils

Good decision to go to the allotment this morning as it rained later in the day and was depressingly misty and dank while out walking. I was struggling for a blip today; the rain soaked daffodils provided something at least.

I weeded and hoed up garlic, broad beans and onions that were sown last autumn and cleared up the strawberry bed. I even felt warm working away on the plot. Susan meanwhile, was at the osteopath for another bone crunching session.

In answer to the many enquiries about the purpose of Susan’s bunting: it is purely to decorate her studio. Mind you it would come in for a post pandemic celebration or the reopening of the railway. Susan has reminded me that the fabric she used was woven on an restored original Victorian factory loom at the National Trust site at Quarry Bank.

Susan’s next artist endeavour might well be freehand machine embroidery, as demonstrated by Poppy Treffry.  I like what she does.
