Day 346 A trip out!

Today I left the house for the first time in a while when Mr MC and I went to collect our glasses, both old frames with new lenses.  Following the giddy excitement of a visit to the optometrist we went on to the local Co op to pick up a few essential groceries and some flowers for Violet's next science experiment.  On the way home we stopped at St John's pond where frankly the winter colours were dull but pleasingly it is now almost full after so much rain.  At times over the last couple of years it has been reduced to a puddle in the middle but now looks like its more normal self.  I've given this pic a poster effect as it looks a bit less boring than the untouched one!
In extras is a collage of Violet, revisiting last week's experiment where we put two carrot tops respectively in a dark cupboard and on a well lit window sill to see which one sprouted. .Today's experiment involved showing how flowers take up water by placing three blooms in test tubes of coloured water.  The effect after even a couple of hours is quite marked.  The bought flowers proved to have stems that were too woody so we had to resort to the past their best snowdrops.
Thank you to all who were kind enough to comment on and give stars and even hearts to yesterday's holly leaf.  Such a lovely surprise, especially as I didn't feel that I'd done it justice.
