An unloved street corner

A largely grey and intermittently wet day. But I did manage a short walk in a local park with Val, a very old friend. Most Thursday afternoons we get out for a walk together, at the moment.
On the way back I passed this enigmatic street corner.  Beyond the trees is a different park, well-known and loved locally as the Ponderosa. The Ponderosa marks an informal boundary between the uphill part of the neighbourhood, largely populated by students and young professionals, and clusters of social housing further down the hill.  The latter includes both 1960s-style tower blocks and some newer, low-rise buildings. So the Ponderosa is a ambiguous bit of borderland: occasionally home to local music festivals (when we had such things),  a haven for dogwalkers by day and large enough for kids and teenagers to disappear into when they don't want to be overseen.
Anyway... What was once a totally nondescript street corner, on the uphill edge of the Ponderosa, is now a large jumble of grey electronics cabinets overshadowed by an enormous mast. Clearly no one thought there was any scope to bother with making it look attractive - or even neutral - in any way.  But some passerby with an imagination and a selection of coloured pens has seen the scope for improvement...
