Garden Redpoll

We seem to have plenty of redpolls and siskins in the garden and some have even ventured down to the feeders. We saw our first yellowhammer of the year on our walk today but didn't get the chance to photograph it as it was high up in a tree. I'm quite pleased that I identified the sound before I spotted the bird itself.

Lands End to John O'Groats 1000 Mile Virtual Challenge Update

Day 27 -  Devon. 4.6 miles walked. 140.2 miles completed.

Down through Shaldon and across the River Teign into Teignmouth and a stop at the Blue Anchor for a virtual pint of Avocet from the Exeter Brewery. Passing through Holcombe I finished on the outskirts of Dawlish and a farmers feast carvery at the Smugglers Inn washed down with a virtual pint of Teignworthy Reel Ale.
