Haddon’s Close

Here is the heron I mislaid yesterday. It was hiding this morning in Haddon’s Close, Nicolson Street.

The lady who did the mural has designed two others that I know of, both in close entries off Nicolson Street on the South Side of the city. They are colourful and cheerful especially when it’s a dark drizzly day. More importantly, they have escaped the graffiti artists, which is amazing given the coverage of mindless daubs on every available wall or door in the district.

It’s a bleak outlook this afternoon as I survey the Meadows but despite the drizzle there is a spontaneous football game going on. Should this be possible given there should be no more than one person seeing one other outside? The younger generation have their own interpretation of the restrictions it seems.
