Bolt from the grey

Many farm gateways we see on our walks are blocked by redundant farm equipment or huge concrete blocks to deter flytippers. We did pass some flytipped rubbish towards the end of the walk - and it had identification too. I reported it and the council soon got back to say they’re looking to prosecute.

We’ve passed this old trailer countless times in the past year and I’ve always thought there was a blip to be found. And so there was and there’s scope for more too in the future.

The weather has been dismal all week owing to being on the easterly side of a high pressure which means northerly winds dragging bands of rain across Kent. Bearing this in mind we went out early, not early enough as we still got caught.

I’ve been wanting to repaint the landing and stairs for a good while. Today’s seemed a good time as any. Being tall has its advantages and with the help of two sturdy planks and a stepladder I was able to reach the very top of the highest part of the stairwell. What takes the time is all the fiddly bits around the doors, skirting boards and stairs. The roller makes fast work of the plain walls when fiddly bits are all done.

Susan helped, when she got back from taking her mum for the second jab, holding paint tins and trays whilst I was on the planks, she was concerned I might have fallen.

We’re just have a strum and pick of our respective instruments for half an hour by way of relaxation. I’m hoping to post her embroidery when she has a finished piece. At the moment we seem to be having more and more supplies delivered....
